What do I do if I receive a notice that my mortgage payment has changed?
Every year mortgage payments change depending on changes in the insurance costs, taxes or interest rate (adjustable rate mortgage).
If you are making your mortgage payments directly to the mortgage company you can adjust your payments on your own.
If your mortgage payments are being made by the Trustee then you need to contact our office and see whether or not the change is going to require your plan to be amended. Most time mortgage payments go up because of increases in insurance and property taxes. This is unrelated to your bankruptcy. However, if your payments are being disbursed by the trustee then your plan payments would also need to increase to cover these increases by your mortgage company.
